Appearance: A tall, very lean man with thick, black hair in a constant state of partial messiness. His face always displays a relaxed expression, though he keeps his dark eyes somewhat shielded by a pair of sunglasses worn low on the bridge of his nose. Around his mouth and chin is a sparse growth of stubble that only makes it look more and more like he’d only just woken up moments ago. His dress of choice is a long, white, button-up shirt that he only buttons partially down his chest, leaving a fair portion of his torso showing. It tucks into a nice pair of black pants, and over this is a waist-length black vest also unbuttoned to a certain section midway down his chest. Wrapped around one wrist is a very intricate watch with several dials and two faces, one over the other. Unfortunately, it seems to be broken.

Personality: Sanae is the epitome of neutral and relaxed. He’s always calm and collected, though tends to be secretive and vague when he speaks. The reason for this is that he has quite a lot to hide- from everyone. Sanae seems to have a sixth sense about when he’s needed and tends to show up just in the nick of time to offer helpful advice or other assistance to those that need it. It’s almost as though he has all the answers, but getting them out of him is a challenge in itself. He also has a very absurd, and sometimes borderline perverted, sense of humor. He never means any harm, though. It just sort of happens.

He also seems to get a bit of a kick out of watching others become embarrassed, but his intentions are… usually good.

It’s not hard to get along with Sanae unless you happen to really dislike people who beat around the bush and avoid giving straight answers. Through all this, though, the only person he really considers himself close to is Joshua. The Composer is the only person who honestly knows who- and what- Sanae really is, but it’s not the only reason he likes Joshua. They just seem to have an odd chemistry and, despite the age difference between them, Sanae never has any trouble talking to Joshua or telling him what’s honestly on his mind. In a strange way, it’s almost as though he’s playing guardian for the boy; a job he enjoys without admitting to.

Abilities/Strengths: While his abilities are similar in nature to that of the Composer’s, Sanae’s are almost infinitely more powerful. He can travel between several planes of existence, including the Realground, Underground, Noise Realm and the Higher Plane, his home world of sorts. Sanae can speak to the Angels and communicate directly with the Composer wherever he is without the Conductor knowing. Very helpful, especially during the Game when he needs to talk to Joshua without the risk of being overheard.

On the more battle-oriented side, Sanae is near invincible and actually wields godlike strength when tuned into a lower plane like the UG or RG. He does this so as to blend in better with wherever he is and not draw attention from the Reapers or even other Angels who would be able to sense his power. He can tune in to whatever plane he goes into, making tracking him by his energy alone almost impossible.

For such a wiry man, he’s very power- perhaps even moreso than the Composer. He even has a Noise form- Panthera Cantus. It takes up two separate entities when he goes into this form, though. One looks similar to Leo Cantus while the other resembles Tigrus Cantus, though colored in red and blue, respectively.

As an Angel, Sanae also knows the secrets to creating the powerful Taboo Noise, the sharing of which is forbidden, though he’s done it once already. With a special sigil, he can summon Taboo Noise that will attack whatever he tells it to- be it Player, Reaper… whoever.

Outside of battle, but noteworthy, is his ability to make both amazing graffiti art and coffee of questionable taste. He likes it, though, so it’s just tough tinkies for everyone who doesn’t.

Weaknesses: Though he’s very strong, Sanae isn’t completely invincible. It is possible for someone to beat him provided their stamina is high enough to keep up with him, though it would be an incredibly difficult feat.

He’s also very devoted to his job as Producer. Should anyone besides Joshua find out that he’s the Producer, it’s pretty much a very good reason for him to start, well… panicking. It’s vital that no one but Joshua knows his position. While it’s not as important, he also tries to avoid others from finding out he’s an Angel, especially now that he’s a Fallen one. Sanae’s identity as CAT is also one he wants to keep hidden.

The Composer himself is a bit of a weakness for him as well. He does his best to try and watch out for Joshua when he can, and since the boy is technically his boss, he has to do what he says… most of the time. Since he’s the Producer, it’s also his job to not only watch out for all the Players, but to regulate the Reapers and make sure everyone is following Joshua’s rules. If Joshua ever decided to just change his mind and rewrite all the rules on a whim, not only would Sanae have to memorize them all, but go around and make sure they were enforced.

In short- Joshua is easily his biggest weakness by far. Not only can the boy make him completely miserable if he chose to, Sanae also thinks himself responsible for his well-being. Anyone who wants to get to the Composer has to go through him first, even if it could end badly for him.

Notable Possessions: Just his watch and an empty, well-stained coffee cup.
